LEAD POISONING IS when a person's health is affected by lead contamination in what they eat, drink, touch, or breathe.  Children under 6 years of age have the greatest risk for lead poisoning due to their small size and developing brains.  Pregnant women with high blood lead levels are at increased risk for miscarriage, giving birth to babies prematurely or with low birthweights. Preventing lead poisoning before it happens is the best way to keep your family safe.
