Noise Pollution Control


Noise meterPart of the County Environmental Health Act agreement that Cumberland County Health Department has with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is to provide community noise enforcement when commercial or industrial noise affects neighboring homes or businesses. The Cumberland County Health Department’s environmental staff is routinely certified by Rutgers University through their Community Noise Enforcement program. The Health Department maintains two noise meters that are calibrated annually by a certified laboratory. The environmental staff can respond to noise complaints at any hour of the day or night.
